Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were alerted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking political figure said the incident left him speechless and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
